PASTORAL CARE, PRAYER & CONFIDENTIALITY NOTICE
Church of the Outcast™
Effective Date: October 14, 2026
A PLACE TO BE HEARD. A COMMUNITY THAT CARES.
At Church of the Outcast™, we recognize that individuals and families often seek spiritual support during some of life's most personal and difficult moments. Through prayer, pastoral conversations, restoration gatherings, and ministry support, we seek to provide an environment grounded in compassion, dignity, respect, and biblical encouragement.
1. Nature of Pastoral Care
Pastoral care may include prayer, spiritual guidance, biblical encouragement, supportive conversations, and assistance identifying appropriate community resources. These services are religious and spiritual in nature and are not represented as licensed professional counseling, psychotherapy, medical treatment, or legal advice unless explicitly provided by a properly qualified professional acting in that capacity.
2. Respect for Privacy
We recognize that individuals may share deeply personal information when requesting prayer or pastoral support.
We seek to handle these conversations with sensitivity, discretion, and respect.
Information may be shared with authorized ministry personnel when reasonably necessary to respond to a request, coordinate appropriate support, or address a legitimate safety concern.
3. Limits of Confidentiality
Although we value privacy, absolute confidentiality cannot be guaranteed. Information may need to be disclosed when required by applicable law, including reporting obligations concerning suspected abuse or neglect, or when reasonably necessary to address a serious and immediate safety concern. Pastoral conversations are not automatically protected by the same confidentiality rules that apply to licensed healthcare or mental health professionals.
4. Prayer Requests
Prayer requests submitted through the website may be reviewed by designated ministry personnel.
Visitors should clearly indicate whether they are requesting private pastoral follow-up or whether their prayer request may be shared with an authorized prayer team. Prayer requests will not be intentionally published as testimonials or shared in public communications without appropriate permission.
5. Youth and Vulnerable Individuals
Ministry support involving minors and vulnerable individuals requires additional care, appropriate boundaries, and safeguarding practices.
Parental or guardian involvement, reporting obligations, and other protective measures may apply depending on the circumstances.
6. Professional Support and Referrals
Some concerns require specialized assistance beyond the scope of pastoral care.
When appropriate, individuals may be encouraged to seek support from licensed mental health professionals, medical providers, legal professionals, or qualified community organizations.
Church of the Outcast does not guarantee a particular personal, spiritual, emotional, or medical outcome from participation in prayer or pastoral support.
7. Emergencies
Church of the Outcast™ website, contact forms, and prayer request services are not emergency response systems.
If you are experiencing an immediate emergency or believe someone is in imminent danger, call 911 or your local emergency services.
For mental health or suicide crisis support in the United States, call or text 988.
